The professional version of the butterfly enclosure is more square in shape, sits straight, and does not rock or move. When unfolded, the pavilion measures 15.7 x 15.7 x 23.6 inches.
The butterfly growing kits package includes a Butterfly Habitat Terrarium and a Quick Start Guide Manual. Users should exercise caution when opening the large, tall monarch butterfly tents, as the cube cage can pop open unexpectedly after the elastic strap is removed. To ensure safety, make sure there is plenty of space around the enclosure and no breakable objects nearby.
After opening the net cage, the PVC side will be creased from folding. To remove the creases, users can blow-dry the PVC with a hair dryer for about 5 minutes or place the PVC towards the warm sun to relax the wrinkles. It is important to always close the cage door with the zippers meeting at the top center. This will allow users to zip down the other side to open the cage if a caterpillar is somewhere on the zipper.
To clean the mesh cage after a disease outbreak or at the end of the season, users can soak it in a 5% bleach solution (19 parts water to 1 part bleach) for approximately 20 minutes. The cage can be soaked in a tub or laundry tub. After cleaning, the butterfly garden should be rinsed with water and then allowed to sun dry, either by hanging it on a clothesline or placing a rock on the floor to prevent it from blowing away.
When folding the cage for storage, users should place their hands on opposite upper corners of the cage and press one corner in to fold the cage flat. The cage can then be stored flat in a closet, under a bed, behind a couch, or any other suitable space.
The professional version of the monarch butterfly habitat is more square in shape, sits straight, and does not rock or move.
